The documents will appear in the default order after being downloaded, not the sorted order.
Note: The default order is the order the documents will appear when the data is initially retrieved.
Sometimes, yes. In order to maintain general availability of USPTO information and services provided on the Internet, any activity or operation by a third party that has the potential to cause a denial or diminution (decrease) of services to other customers, whether generated automatically or manually, will result in the Office denying or limiting access to the Office Internet resources to that third party.
TDR 2.0 (Trademark Document Retrieval, version 2.0) is a web application that provides real-time access to the electronic file wrapper of U.S. Trademark applications and applications for Extensions of Protection, as well as U.S. Trademark Registrations. It also displays information contained in the USPTO records regarding International Registrations and applications for International Registration filed under the Madrid system through the U.S.A.
To access TDR, all that is necessary is entry of a U.S. application serial number, a U.S. or International Registration number, or a U.S. Reference Number.
(Trademark Document Retrieval) displays the electronic file wrapper of U.S. trademark applications, applications for Extensions of Protection, and U.S. trademark registrations. It also displays information contained in the USPTO records regarding International Registrations and applications for International Registration filed under the Madrid system through the United States.
The USPTO is in the process of converting all file records into a digital format to permit access via TDR. This conversion process is expected to take several years. Currently, you can access almost all pending applications and Madrid Protocol filings, as well as many registrations via TDR. However, some older trademark records may be incomplete:
A very small number of pending trademark applications that have been outside the regular Trademark Operation for several years (such as those involved in proceedings with the TTAB) are incomplete in the TDR database. These files will all be uploaded into the TDR database as we receive them, but no later than September 2005.
Some documents pertaining to Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings that are not accessible in TDR may be available using TTABVUE.
Applications that abandoned prior to 01 April 2003 may not be in the TDR database, or may be incomplete.
Information regarding prosecution history and current status may be accessed from the link to TARR located in the left frame of the TDR web page.
If you have a question as to whether a TDR record is complete, please contact the Trademark Assistance Center, at 1-800-786-9199, or e-mail your question to
TrademarkAssistanceCenter@uspto.gov.
If you would like to request that a particular record be added to the TDR database, you may e-mail your request to TM_Scanning@uspto.gov. Please note that:
records will be added only as Office resources permit,
if the request is granted, it will take up to week for the record to be unloaded to the database, and
we will only accept one serial number or registration number per e-mail request.

Why does nothing happen when I enter a number and click the "submit" button?
1. Javascript may not be enabled in your browser. Check to see that you have javascript enabled. An information message should appear on TDR when you try to access the site without javascript enabled. If you see the message that javascript is not enabled on your browser, go to your browsers settings and enable javascript.
2. Security settings and/or programs running on your system may be interfering with the successful operation of TDR. Temporarily disable any Internet security programs and try using TDR again. If TDR now operates properly, this is the problem.
3. Most modern web browsers now employ pop-up blockers that could affect access to TDR. Turn off the ad and pop up blocking features in your browser and try using TDR. If TDR now operates correctly, configure your browser to allow pop-up windows and cookies for the uspto.gov domain.
4. Most Internet security programs allow the user to add trusted web domains that will permit user-designated sites to run web technologies that you might not trust for all sites. See the documentation for your particular security program for more information.
Why can't I print my document, or a specific portion of the document, from the document list or the browser view?
The functionality is not built into TDR. You can download the document in PDF format, using the PDF reader of your choice to view and print portions of the downloaded document(s). If you are using an Adobe product to view PDF documents, please see the Adobe website or the help file for information about how to use your Adobe product. If you do not have a PDF viewer installed on your computer, you can download the free Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader will provide basic functionality for working with PDF files. With respect to printing issues, you may need to adjust your computer settings, or contact your IT department. Printing issues usually require an adjustment be made on your end. The USPTO cannot control how the print function works for external users.
The USPTO does not endorse these particular Adobe products; however, these products have been tested for use with TDR.

No, because no PDF documents are shown embedded in the web page. The document viewer will allow a preview of the document, but it is shown in either html or as a jpg image. Documents are available for download as a PDF and then can be viewed through an application such asAdobe. Such an application must be installed on your computer in order to open and view a PDF document.

Sometimes the text size in a browser is set to a larger size and consequently, the first one or two documents in the list is cut off. To correct this, set you browser text size to a smaller size, usually through the "Tools" dropdown list.
TDR runs on the browser and is not dependent on the computer platform. Any computer platform, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux/Unix have all been verified to work with TDR using the browsers listed below.

You may search for information concerning employees at USPTO by clicking and expanding the "Trademark Information" link to the left of the search screen. Then click on the link "Employee & Office Directories." Employees may be searched using the "Employee Locator" or the "Telephone Directory" links.
Download the document(s) to your computer, then use the "print" function of your particular PDF viewer to print documents. If you use the "print" function of your browser to print documents you are viewing, you may find the result to be distorted and not a faithful reproduction of the original. For this reason, the USPTO recommends downloading the document to your computer, and printing via the "print" function of your PDF viewer.
TDR provides documents in PDF format. Therefore, you will need a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat 5.0, or a recent version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to view and print document images in your browser. The USPTO does not endorse these particular Adobe products; however, these products have been tested for use with TDR.
Click the check box to the left of the document(s) you are interested in downloading, or click the "select all" button at the top of the list if you would like to download all of the contents of the file. Then click the "Download PDF" or the "Download Original" button. You will be prompted to indicate where on your computer you would like to save the resulting PDF or Zip file.
